How the Character Counter works
The counter runs 100% in your browser: with every keystroke it scans your text and counts characters, words, and hashtags in real time. Characters include spaces and punctuation; words are split by spaces; hashtags are any token starting with #, exactly the way each network reads them at publish time.
Alongside, the tool compares your total against each platform's limit and shows how much room is left. Example: a 1,900-character caption fits on Instagram (2,200 limit, 300 to spare) but goes over the limit on Twitter/X (280) and in your Instagram bio (150). You see the overflow before copy-pasting.
Tip for Brazilian e-commerce: keep your sales line and CTA ("shop now with 10% OFF") within the first 125 characters on Instagram, since that's what shows before the "...more". Text cut off at that point gets fewer clicks. Use the count to make sure your offer is never hidden by the cut.
